I was abruptly taken off of my beta blocker (Toporol Xl 25 mg. ) 3 months ago. After the first 24 hours I began to experience horrific symptoms.a racing heart, increased blood pressure and worst of all severe anxiety. I am constantly checking my pulse, resting, rising, walking, REFUSE to do any running right now, since my tach is exercise triggered. Anyways, now I'm obsessing over that. Also, I'm tired, sluggish, dizzy, sick to my stomach, and zoned out, no memory.

It showed mild mitral valve prolapse with no other abnormalties. I have been told to live with it, but it is affecting my life, which the Dr.'s now say is just Anxiety, and that is just the reason for the fast heart rate. (I go from 70bpm to 130bpm and then skipping episodes) Yes, I do have anxiety over them, but not before them.
